Entrepreneurship in Jamaica: Delivering Workshops on behalf of Niagara College's Institute for Global Training and Development
During the summer of 2023 I was asked to co-author an 8-module workshop on Entrepreneurship for the Niagara College Global Institute for Education and Training. Our College has partnerships with developing nations throughout the globe. In January 2024 I was asked to address three partner colleges in Jamaica delivering a number of the Entrepreneurship modules. Spending a week with students, educators and administrators was a transformative experience. The three presentations delivered while in Jamaica included Personal Branding, Creating an Entrepreneurial Mindset and Creating a Business Plan for a New Venture.
I was so impressed with the Jamaican educators’ wisdom, ability and dedication to their students and to each other. We spent our week with people who had less than most Canadians have materially and yet these people were filled with joy, pride and gratitude. The educators and students were so very appreciative for the partnership with NC. I got to interface with people who faced challenges and did so without an inhibiting level of caution and trepidation. Jamaicans were a people filled with joy and optimism. They had well-earned pride in how far they had come and optimism regarding how far they intend to go. Who saw their future as bright.

In 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, I taught at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. In OUAS practical experience is an important component of study so the Business School offers international business courses into their curricula. During the first week in May blocked seminars are offered and taught in English by Professors from around the world. I taught Selling Strategies that Work in Canada and the United States. It was a 35 hour, project based, selling skills workshop. The OUAS Block week seminar experience was an excellent opportunity for me to teach in a German classroom and environment, and have an inter cultural experience. This experience was fantastic in that I met professors from all over the world, worked closely with the Osnabruck faculty and loved experiencing the uniqueness of the German student. See Syllabus
Language and Cultural Challenges Facing the Chinese Student in Canada

In my final year of my Master in Business Administration course I did a research project on Chinese students' experience in Canadian Post-Secondary schools. This research was very eye opening. After completing it I had an in-depth appreciation into the challenges and the courage of a student studying in a unfamiliar culture. Since completing this research I have tried to bring the international students' perspective into focus for our Canadian students.
My courses are punctuated with inclusion, acceptance and tolerance of diverse people.

![Picture](/uploads/1/4/2/8/14280894/___3407819.jpg)
Niagara College has been involved with the delivery of the Office Administration General Certificate Program in Saudi Arabia since 2007. In Saudi, our program is part of a “Saudization” or “Nationalization” program designed to develop a skilled internal workforce.
The first small cohort of students (six) graduated from the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center's Riyadh location in 2009. In 2010, 13 students graduated from the program. In 2011, the OAG program was delivered at two King Faisal locations (Riyadh and Jeddah), with a total of 28 students graduating from the two locations. I was assigned to be the curriculum adviser and liaison of this program in the Spring of 2012.
