About Monique Finley
After decades of corporate experience in one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and as an entrepreneur owning a franchise company that spanned Canada and the United States, I set my sights on transferring those skills and experiences into the classroom setting. In January 2009 I was awarded my first teaching assignment at Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, CANADA at the same time I started my first courses towards earning my Master in Business Administration degree at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, CANADA. From January 2009 to the spring of 2011 I simultaneously taught over a dozen courses while completing the 20 courses required to earn my MBA. Organization, passion, focus and determination were the foundations of this accomplishment. As well, this experience gave me insights into my students and their challenges as they balance their lives with their pursuit of a degree/diploma.

Language and Cultural Challenges Facing the Chinese Student in Canada
In my final year of my Master in Business Administration program I did a research project on Chinese students' experience in Canadian post-secondary schools. This research was very eye opening. After completing it I had an in-depth appreciation of the challenges and the courage of a student studying in a unfamiliar culture. Since completing this research I have tried to bring the international students' perspective into focus for our Canadian students.
My courses are punctuated with inclusion, acceptance and tolerance of diverse people.
